Due to pressure from Banzaf, McDonalds has replaced a Happy Meal with the option to replace the fries with fruit. Frito Lay got rid of trans fat in its snacks and Kraft foodscreated a global advisory panel of nutritionists who will change the ways Kraft makes, packages and promotes its food.
The budget spent on marketing unhealthy food, such as candy, snacks and cereal, to children amount immense sums.
US court rules against President Bush in global warming case Massachusetts against EPA, Nr. 05-1120 [2]
The nation's highest court has ruled that the US Environmental Protection Agency does have the power to regulate harmful greenhouse gas emissions, and that such greenhouse gases from motor vehicles fall within the law's definition of an air pollutant.
EPA agency had refused to determine carbon dioxide and other emissions from new cars and trucks that contribute to climate change. The Bush administration had argued that any move to cap greenhouse gas emission would be bad for business and US workers and had called for voluntary programs.
